Day 1 - 7 Jul 2021
Content: We stayed at the Dockside of the new Universal resort. I can definitely recommend this resort if you are planning on visiting the Universal parks! There are busses to and from the park and I think the maximum amount of time we waited for the transport, was around 15/20 minutes (and this was at very busy moments, like closing time for the parks). This resort is very kid-friendly, there’s a big pool and a kids pool with a fake beach where they can play. There also is a Starbucks inside the lobby, a gift shop and the restaurant is a selfservice type of deal, with three different meal times and many different options. The food was pretty good too. You could also order Pizza for the room, but I would recommend just going down to the restaurant to get yourself a meal.
Day 2 - 8 Jul 2021
Content: The first park we visited was Adventure island. I hadn’t been to this park since I was 13 years old, so a lot had changed! We had a very fun day, there’s plenty of rides, the Harry Potter area is amazing and I love the amount of rollercoasters they have. The only downside for me was the food and the restaurants: for some reason all the restaurants had huge lines, starting around 15:00. There seems to just not be enough food options, because the park wasn’t even that busy. Other than that, a great theme park for a fun day!
Content: I remember this rollercoaster being my absolute favourite when I was younger. I wasn’t even a huge marvel fan back then, so it was very fun coming back as someone who loves and knows all the marvel movies. This ride was so much more crazy then I remember it to be (or maybe I’m just getting old). I love a good rollercoaster and this is definitely a great one, but it was one the most physically exhausting ones. I had to take a little break from rides to relax myself after this one!
Content: We were super lucky to get to ride the new rollercoaster (that wasn’t even officially open yet!) when visiting the park. This. Ride. Is. Amazing. One of the best rollercoaster rides I’ve ever been on! Unexpected, fun, fast and exciting. Besides that the theming is done really well too.
Content: This ride is a must-see for every Harry Potter fanatic. If you want to emerge yourself intro the world of Harry Potter: this ride will take you there right away. Not one boring moment and even the line (inside hogwarts!) was entertaining. They nailed the magic of Harry Potter with this one
Content: This was one of the first rides we this and it made all three of us super hyped for the rest of the day. Definitely one of the best rides I’ve ever been on. There’s so many different elements to this one and exciting twists (don’t want to spoil anything, because going into this one without knowing what is going to happen, will make the experience so much more fun?)
Content: Another ride we did was the Popeyes water ride. I don’t think I ever laughed as much in a ride as this one. All three of us had tears in our eyes from laughing so much. Spoiler: Be ready to get SOAKED.
Day 3 - 9 Jul 2021
Content: The second park of Universal was just as fun as the first one! Like island of adventure: many fun rides, maybe a little less rollercoasters. The food situation, unfortunately, was the same as with Island of Adventure. I personally thought the Harry Potter area (not the rides) was way better done than in Island of Adventure. Incredibly immersive and just magical.
Content: Walking into this area of the park was an experience every Potterhead dreams of. Grab yourself a butter bear (I recommend the frozen one) and let yourself get lost in the moment. Even my Slytherin heart could barely take it.
Content: Another amazing Harry Potter ride and again: the line is almost just as fun as the ride itself. I wish this one wasn’t as screen heavy (there’s a lot of rides with screens/3D in this park) but other than that: a super thrilling (and a little scary for small kids) ride.
Content: This ride is super fun because there’s an element of competition in it. Compete against your partner, friend or family member to see who can kill the most aliens. My fiancé, who grew up watching this movie was super hyped about this one and said it was just one big nostalgic day for him! The rides are based of many things from his childhood, like men in black, E.T. and others. I could definitely notice our ten year age difference a little more this day, haha!
Content: Another ride that’s basically just a big screen. However! As someone who’s a big New York City fan, I thought it was a fun ride. I wouldn’t wait for it longer than half an hour, but fun anyway!
Day 4 - 10 Jul 2021
Content: The next park we did was Disney’s Hollywood studios. I wrote about all the Disney parks on here already: but there’s many rides we didn’t get to do last time or I didn’t talk about yet. Out of all four Disney parks, this one is my fiancé’s favourite: a big part of that is him being a huge StarWars fan!
Content: This ride was brand new last time we visited, so the lines were insane and we didn’t get to see it. This time we went straight to it and had to wait for about 15 minutes. It’s a really fun dark ride and very refreshing and different from other rides. There’s so much going on, that I definitely believe you can do this ride many times and still discover fun new details.
Content: Out of the two big Star Wars rides, this is the one we didn’t get to do last time. What I heard about this ride was that it was only really fun if you were assigned a certain spot on it as captain. So I was pretty disappointed when we didn’t get the front spots. However, I actually thought the ride was still very fun and exciting. I do think it’s more fun as captain, but definitely don’t let that stop you from going on it!
Day 4 - 10 Jul 2021
Content: This is one of the rides I still remembered from being a kid and getting to finally ride on the “grown up” rides. It’s such a great rollercoaster and I’m very sad our home park (Disneyland Paris) is getting rid of it, so it was extra fun for me to get to ride it in Orlando!
Day 6 - 12 Jul 2021
Content: At Magic Kingdom (my favourite park out of the four) we decided to heave a little engagement celebration. The cast members were super friendly and gifted us the buttons and congratulated us through out the whole day. It definitely made our day extra magical!
Day 6 - 12 Jul 2021
Content: I heard a lot of stories about this classic Disney ride and since I never went on it before, I had to see what all the buzz was about! This slow ride takes you around the park and behind the scenes of some of the rides. It also gives you amazing views of the castle. A really unique park experience and a great way to relax and let your feet rest for a little while.
Content: My absolute favourite rides of all Disney rides, wherever. This ride has been my favourite since I was a kid and I was so exited I got to see it all again, before they are turning it into something else, pretty soon. It was all exactly as I remembered and I definitely cried some happy tears. We also got pretty wet from the drop!
Content: After all the rides and pictures, we took a little break and had some food at the Plaza Restaurant. This table service restaurant at the middle of Mainstreet is the perfect spot if you want to sit down and have some food instead of just grabbing a quick bite. The food was good, but the ambiance made it special!
Day 7 - 13 Jul 2021
Content: Out of all the parks, Animal Kingdom has the most relaxed vibe. It’s also one of the prettiest Disney parks there is, in my opinion. Because we had some rainy days, a lot of the rides were closed for those periods, but the park makes up for it with a lot of different activities and animals to see.
Day 7 - 13 Jul 2021
Content: For my fiancé’s birthday we had drinks and food at the Nomad Lounge. This lounge is really unique when it comes to Disney restaurants. You are surrounded by water and nature, so you really feel like you are in a jungle or something similar. They offered really great quality food and drinks. I had the lobster Mac and cheese, which was one of the most delicious dishes I ever had in a Disney park!
Day 7 - 13 Jul 2021
Content: We did the safari three times while visiting Animal Kingdom! Every time it was an unique experience, since you don’t know which animals you get to see. The tour guides for the safari had a lot of interesting facts about the animals to tell and you really learn a lot about them!
Day 8 - 14 Jul 2021
Content: Epcot is a park where the best thing to do (in my opinion) is get yourself a drink, walk around and enjoy yourself. I personally loved walking around and trying different food and drinks the best part about this park. There’s also a lot of different festivals they have, which offer even more experiences (and food) to try!
Day 8 - 14 Jul 2021
Content: My absolute favourite part about Epcot is the world showcase. There are eleven different pavilions (country’s) that you can explore. I love walking around in the different countries, trying the food, talking to the cast members (who are from the countries they work in!) and learning more about them. My favourite pavilion was definitely Japan!
Day 8 - 14 Jul 2021
Content: Pro tip: there’s two entries to the Epcot park. When you visit Disney’s boardwalk, you can enter Epcot easily from there. The boardwalk is a very nice place to have some breakfast and do some shopping and it doesn’t get as crowded as the parks do. There’s also a lot of transportation that goes from there to the different resorts, which gives you the ability to do some resort hopping!
