Content: From Tekapo, a 30/45-minute drive along State Highway 8 will bring you to Lake Pukaki. You probably saw this place on your Insta feed already: the bright blue lake with Mount Cook as a backdrop. Take some pictures and then take the turn onto State Highway 80 to reach Mt Cook Village.

Mueller Hut

This alpine track is 5.2 km one way to the hut (return via same track) and take around 4-5 hrs to reach it. Content: Go on a cruise on Lake Wakatipu. There is plenty boat cruise provider. However, I recommend to hop on the TSS Earnslaw, iconic century-old coal fired steamship. It runs 90 minute cruises regularly throughout the day. Onboard you can visit the engine room to see giant steam engines at work, view historical photos in the mini-museum or enjoy a wine or beer and food from the Promenade Café and Bar.
