Day 1 - 1 May 2019
Content: We commenced our journey with a 3 hour Latam airlines flight from GRU Airport to Ezeiza International Airport, located in the capital city of Argentina. Super modern, well organised and clean airport,security check was quick and smooth.
Content: Rented a car from airport and took a 30 min drive to our hotel located near old dock, staff was friendly and courteous, rooms were spacious and comfortable with attached balcony.
Content: Got ready and begin exploring Buenos Aries, we took a 20 min drive to our first destination which was Obelisco. It is a historic monument and icon of Buenos Aires. A clean beautiful place covered by historic buildings and cops for its security.
Content: Teatro Colon is considered one of the best opera house. Here we had a guided tour in English, great architecture with fascinating history, the opera and acoustic is just stunning.
Content: Returned back to hotel and Strolled over Puerto Madero which is a dockside area containing upscale steakhouse and skyscrapers. A good place to spend evening.
Content: Had dinner at a stylish Argentinian restaurant located in the hotel itself. It had limited menu out of which we ordered steaks, which was juicy and delicious.
Day 2 - 2 May 2019
Content: With a fresh start of a day we took a 20 min drive to Aeroparque Internacional Jorge Newbery from where we boarded a 2 hour Aerolineas Argentinas flight to San Carlos DeBariloche. Small, modern and efficient airport.
Day 2 - 2 May 2019
Content: Rented a car and took a short drive to our hotel. Location was near the lake but away from the city center, rooms were spacious and beautiful, equipped with Jacuzzi and a lake view.
Content: Dropping off our luggage, we took a 20 min drive to Cerro Campanario which is a calm landscape, we climbed up the chairlift and clicked some panoramic photos.
Content: Llao Llao Peninsula is a spectacular natural setting of Patagonian splendor founded by Llao Llao Hotel, beautiful place surrounded by nature.
Content: While returning back to our hotel we took a Beer tour, collection of the bar and food was amazing, tasted few beers and learned about how it is made and stored.
Day 3 - 3 May 2019
Content: As it was the day dedicated for kayaking and trekking, we took an hour drive to Lago Mascardi which is a lake and a starting point for many excursion.
Content: We hopped in to the kayak and begin paddling towards Playa Leaones which is one of the most beautiful beach on Mascardi. We relaxed on the shore and enjoyed the wilderness of the surrounding.
Content: Later again we embarked and took a short kayak ride to Coihue forests where we hiked through the dense forest and enjoyed the beauty.
Content: While returning back to our hotel we took a stop at a local Argentinian restaurant. Excellent small restaurant with charming ambiance. The slow roasted lamb is a must try here.
Day 4 - 4 May 2019
Content: As it was our leisure day we planned to have a guided tour in the area so we jumped in the car and had a 30 min drive to Puerto Panuelo which is a marina and starting point of excursions.
Content: Boarded a multi-hulled watercraft known as Catamaran and sailed on clear waters of Lake Nahuel Huapi and reached Isla Victoria also known as Victoria island. It is surrounded by snowy mountains and lush forests. Later we disembarked the boat and walked through the pine forest and saw some exotic red deer.
Content: Returned back in to the boat and passing through Quetrihue Peninsula we reached Myrtle forest, which is unique due to its size and density. It was a magical place covered with white flowers.
Content: After sunset returned back to hotel and had dinner. The restaurant was fantastic and food was decent, service was great, there were not more choice available for wine.
Day 5 - 5 May 2019
Content: In the afternoon it was time to say goodbye to Barioche, so we took a short drive and reached San Carlos DeBariloche airport from where we boarded a 4 hours Aerolineas Argentinas flight to Aeropuerto Mendoza. Nice small and modern airport with friendly staff.
Day 5 - 5 May 2019
Content: Rented a car and took a 20 min drive to our hotel. Located in the heart of the city, rooms are sleek and needs up gradation, hospitality was great.
Content: Dropping off our luggage, we walked through the street to reach a restaurant. Wonderful restaurant serving delightful combination of flavour, service was top notch, lamb and steak is a must try.
Day 6 - 6 May 2019
Content: Today is the day to explore several Argentine wineries so after breakfast took a 30 min drive to Carmelo Patti winery. Had a typical tour provided by the owner, the winery was small and well attended, they gave us tips and recommendations. Tried several types of wines, taste was excellent.
Content: "Clos de Chacras, bodega y restaurante is one of the well known winery in Mendoza. Took a winery tour which was personally assisted and taken care of small details. Later had a 6 course meal for our lunch at the winery itself, food was good but it was bit costly. "
Content: With a short drive visited a Family owned Boutique winery, the tour was very informative and qualitative. They provided amazing knowledge on wine making process.
Content: Returned back after a tiring day and had a relaxing spa session at the hotel itself and spent our evening.
Day 7 - 7 May 2019
Content: Checked-out from hotel and took a short drive to Aeropuerto Mendoza from where we boarded a 5 hours Aerolineas Argentinas flight to Cataratas International Airport. Small airport with very helpful ground staff. Airport was under renovation.
Day 7 - 7 May 2019
Content: Taking a 30 min drive from airport we reached our hotel and checked-in. Located in the beautiful lush jungle bordering the Iguazu river, receptionist was very helpful and rooms were comfortable. We had a wonderful stay here.
Content: Dropping off our luggage, we planned to have a glimpse at Iguazu falls from Brazilian side. Majestic natural wonder with lot of view point offered. Lovely place loaded with tons of cool breeze and photogenic locations.
Content: While returning back from falls we took a stop at a restaurant near to our hotel. Lovely ambiance, offers wide range of meat selection, taste was amazing and hospitality was more then expected.
Day 8 - 8 May 2019
Content: After breakfast, taking a 30 min drive we reached Iguazu National Park known for world's largest and most impressive waterfalls and some endangered species of floras and fauna. Spectacular falls with breathtaking views.
Content: As soon as we reached Iguazu national park we started hiking through the walkways elevated from the jungle surface and saw some indigenous fauna. The circuit provided us view of upper portion of Iguazu.
Content: Hiking through the upper circuit we reached the lower circuit which offered some elevated views below and around Iguazu falls. Need hiking shoes, not recommended for aged people.
Content: After a long hike boarded a park train to Garganta Station where we had some snacks and walked through the wooden pathway to the falls which took us over the river to plunging falls viewpoint, the walkway was wide and well constructed, it was a scary experience but the hike was worth the view.
Content: Returned back to a local restaurant with a 30min drive, had Red meat and fish combined with exquisite sauces for our dinner which was delicious and well cooked loved the taste and the combination. Need reservation before visiting.
Day 9 - 9 May 2019
Content: Packed our bags and took a 30 min drive to Cataratas International Airport from where we boarded a 10 hours Jetsmart Argentina flight to GRU Airport. The flight was extremely comfortable and crew was very helpful and polite. Returned back with some beautiful memories Argentina offered us.
