Content: After finding our driver, we made our way from the airport to miraflores - a part of Lima. We walked around the city and ended up at the gorgeous cliff walk and the parque de amor. Taking in the beautiful surroundings of the cliffs next to the Pacific Ocean, we were so excited to be in Peru! Afterward we went to Barbarian brewery. They have recently helped Lima become a staple in the craft beer industry! Their food and beer were top notch!

Content: We arrived from Lima airport to Cusco excited to walk around the UNESCO world heritage site. (The whole city of Cusco!)

Content: We got picked up by a car after our flights. Tip: Be sure to take it easy this day to acclimate to the high altitude. Cusco sits at 11,000 ft above sea level, and let me tell you altitude sickness is real! We Explored the city center and Cusco’s charming streets and shops. Coffee is Cusco is so good!

Content: We arrived at the train station in aguas calientes!

Content: After taking a bus, we visited the wonder of the world Machu Picchu! Exploring around this magnificent place we took in the surroundings- you are surrounded by the beautiful Andes! It feels amazing to have just checked off a major bucketlist item! Tip: I highly suggest getting here early for less crowds. Also, have a guide set up to take you around. They will teach you so much you didn’t know and you can truly take in the experience!

The Tree House Restaurant
Content: After a long day hiking, we grabbed dinner at Tree House restaurant. They have amazing varieties of international cuisine. Our favorite was the alpaca burger pictured here and a traditional Peruvian pisco sour! You can even try their delicacy cuoy (Guinea pig 🤭)

Content: Checking into our hotel we got a good nights sleep after a day of exploration!

Content: We left aguas calientes super early to catch a bus to puno!

Lake Titicaca
Content: After a long bus ride, we visited the floating islands of Uros. The people from these islands have lived here for hundreds of years and welcome you onto the island to see how they built them. They showed us how they fish and make hand made crafts in which we could purchase. The bracelets the women make are absolutely gorgeous! ❤️

Content: We ate at the restaurant in the hotel since there aren’t lots of options around. It was very good! We settled in for the night afterward.

Taquile Island
Content: Waking up, a guide met us to take us to The fascinating Taquile Island! We got to hike the island, see how the families live and watch them sing and dance. Their culture is spectacular and spending a day with them is fascinating!

Content: We took a morning flight from Juliana to Lima.

Content: We flew back to Lima and checked out the city center. We walked around and visited the water light show at night! Highly recommend!

Content: We made our way back to the airport for our red eye back home to New York. Peru has been magical!
